Summer in a Nutshell...

June - So it still was not completely warm in June but we did get a chance to go on our first family vacation with Holden. We are privileged to live fairly close to Lava Hot Springs and so we decided to meet Trevor's brother and his family there. We were a bit nervous as new parents, but this trip was just the relaxation we needed after a tough month of May. Holden loved the warm springs and I loved my massage that I got at the Hot Pots near our hotel (Trevor's Treat!) That was my first professional massage that I have ever had. Holden did so well, sleeping 7 hours in his own double. We had a blast and could not have picked a better event to kick off our summer fun!

Holden got this shirt when he was life flighted the day he was born. It is so interesting that they give you a souvenir of the ride when all you can think about is if your baby is going to make it.
July - Holden was blessed in Trevor's home town, Plain City, Ut. It was a rather warm weekend, but a perfect day for his blessing. So many family and friends came to show their support. Below is the Four generation shot. Holden's middle name is Blaine and that is his grandpa and great-grandpa's middle name as well. I loved this name the first time that I heard it.
I miss you Anna. Our friends Anna, Alex and Max came to the blessing as well. They were our good friends from Logan.
My best friend from Colorado came to visit us. We had a lot of fun at the zoo and house hunting. I wish that we lived closer to each other because it was so good chatting it up like we used to. I felt bad because we went to the show one night while she was here and she ended up getting sick. This reminded me of when Amy came to Mexico with me and swallowed too much salt water while snorkeling. I must be bad luck for her when it comes to throwing up.
August - We got to take Holden on his first camping trip. We kind of cheated though by staying in my mom's motor home. It is amazing how much Holden loves the outdoors, just like his parents!
My mom watched Holden for a couple hours while Trev and I went for some Mountain biking fun, just like the olden days. Can't think of a better date. That night we had some fantastic pizza and finished off the evening by the campfire.
In the morning we decided to go on a hike down by the river. I sure do love the Snake River, it is so wide and gorgeous. We came on a family vacation when I was about eight to this exact camp ground. That experience made me love Idaho and want to live there some day. I even loved the outdoors back then. The funny thing about this picture is that Trevor said he would not get caught dead wearing the baby front pack because it challenged his masculinity. I talked him into though and he wore it on the hike. When we got back to camp the old man camp host came up to us and said "you don't see that very often, it takes a special man to wear one of those, most guys wouldn't do that." Boy did I get "the look".
September - I Love My Family! We flew out of Salt Lake to Denver to do our Annual visit in Fairplay at my family's Haunted House. While we were there we also attended Brooke's wedding and went to the aquarium with my cousin Ashley and her boyfriend.

Me, Holden, and my Grandma Evelyn (my dad's mom). It was good to see her again. I didn't get to see her much growing up unfortunely

The haunted house
My dad and his "First Mate". Everyone just couldn't get over how cute and chubby Holden was. They kept saying we should send his pictures into a contest and that he is the perfect Gerber Baby.

  1. Jenny! I'm so glad you posted on my blog. We're living in salt lake right now. Holden is super cute by the way. Are you guys in Colorado?
